I remember the suggestion too.
In 1964 I wrote to AR requesting clues to his locations. Evgenia replied, ' You will find spots for your photographs if you drift around Windermere in a boat', which is how I found the places that are, for me, the best fit— Darien and the Promontary (which is easily missed except from a small boat near the shore). I failed to find Horseshoe Cove, but Jim Andrews took me to see it, and apart from having no beck it is perfect.
