I googled it, as you do. It's cited a lot, but never explained. So, not much use...

"Poule de Luxe" is an extremely well known and well used expression. But again, I confess that I have never met one, intimately or otherwise. I have met women who have ruthlessly slept their way to a useful passport and a nice chunk of money, but that's not the same thing, and knowing their temporary husbands, seems a lot like hard work.
