In light of earlier threads about the role of Susan, and the presence of similar Susans in other series, I thought the following would be interesting. I came across it in Terry Pratchett's Soul Music (one of his Discworld novels -- a series I highly recommend to anyone with an irreverent sense of humour. A young lady is musing on her name:
"Susan ... it wasn't a good name, was it? It wasn't truly a bad name.... But it was dull. Susan. Sue. Good old Sue. It was a name that made sandwiches, kept its head in difficult circumstances, and could reliably look after other people's children."
Maybe Pratchett is an AR fan.
