"Feral", I met this English word for the first time. If I knew it before,
I didn't use a word "stray". I'm glad to learn a new word.
I looked up "yamaneko" in my Japanese dictionary. Yamaneko has also two
meanings, a wildcat and a feral cat. When yamaneko is written in katakana,
almost Japanese imagine a wildcat. When yamaneko is written in kanji or in
hiragana, some people may imagine a feral cat. That is my personal feelings.
Yamaneko of yamaneko-jima (Wild Cat Island) is witten in katakana.
Japanese language has three kinds of characters.
