I have to agree with Robert - if writers spelled out every detail it might make things a tad boring (not to mention leaving no room whatsoever for Tarboarders to discuss, scrap, argue, rubbish or otherwise have fun).
As a kid camping way out in the wopwops, we often didn't wear much in the way of clothing until the sun began to burn. My brother only began wearing swimming togs for the early morning swim when he complained that the little fresh-water crayfish in the river were nibbling his 'dangly bits'.
