The use of natural or man-made markers need not be limited to guiding boats and ships through channels. We have a number of such landmarks identified, such as prominent boulders or trees along the shore, to pinpoint the location of a number of nasty rocks and ledges in the small bay where we sail.

Find Seal Bay in the southeast corner of the chart on the following link and you will see the obstacles my native waters offer.
