Luggage labels and dogs (was Beijing/Peiping/Peking/Pekin)

We were in Beijing at the same time. Bother. Might have sunk a beer.

The other "Peking" is the airport -you may remember seeing your luggage labelled "PEK". Changing an IATA code is too difficult.

Funnily enough the Beijing city fathers have rather sensible rules about things like big motorbikes (only with a sidecar!) and big dogs (not allowed) but the city dog regulations, which measure height at the shoulder, do, rather precisely, permit a Pekinese!
