In the early 1930's a young physics prof was making a name for himself in London - Blackett - he went on to win the Nobel Prize in Physics.
He was at Imperial College, aside from that there is not much about Blacketts on the web. But he would have been in the news at the time.
I wonder where AR got the name from?
