Reply to John Nichols:
I find that no one browser covers all eventualities and so I use Opera, Netscape and Konqueror with my Linux operating system.
I have no knowledge of dwg files, I thought Autocad used .lxf, nevertheless I would guess that you have a program on your machine which displays .dwg files.
In the outcome you describe, Opera is probably set up to call the that program to display (swallow1).dwg; my Opera(6) does not display the file but I can 'save target' which downloads swallow1.dwg and it is then available for me to work on - except that I do not have the appropriate program!
Konqueror works in a similar fashion to your Opera in that it will call for the program required to display a particular file format. I think it is within the users control to specify this file-format/program match but I have not got that far (no need to date). Perhaps Netscape has a similar facility (I have not looked there either). This sort of thing often comes under the heading of 'filters'. It is possible to customise the bars in Opera, all have an 'off' option, click on 'view' and then the bar which you wish to hide; click 'off'. Sorry if this is a long note, hope it does not frustrate you further!
Peter.
