Ah, yes, the cupcake. I think of cupcakes as sweet, rather like mini-cakes, usually with frosting. Muffins are less sweet, without frosting, and generally a morning food, often with fruit, such as blueberries, in the dough. Same shape, though, and generally cooked in the same sort of pan.

No. 3 may look like a scone, but it's not likely to be even remotely sweet. As you say, the scone in No. 4 is one segment of a larger scone, partially sliced before baking (very much what I think of).
