Yes John, you could say that "The Archers" is iconic. It's a bit like "Blue Hills" [for the others, that was a long-running Australian radio soap opera, now defunct.] I emigrated from Birmingham to Melbourne in 1952 and "The Archers" was running then, along with "Mrs Dale's Diary".
