Daisy in Secret Water.

Dear All:

I was rereading SW last night and it struck me that Daisy is similar but significantly different to Nancy in that she tries delibrately not to tell her parents what is happening. Even the use of the term Missionary is quite derogatory for the time.

I wonder if it is parental behaviour that causes the secretiveness or the child.

I know my 13 year old will tell me things she would never dream of telling her mother. Her mother is a lot like the GA.

PS Is the Archers ome form of iconic British program. The Child Protection Officer who said we could not let children camp alone seems a bit over protective. I mean at 13 I used to sleep in the bush in a tent.
