Ah the joys of metric.

I have borrowed a book which lists all the measurements known in the world. It is huge and the number of measurements are great. The fact that in 200 years we are down to 2 sets is good. Hopefully the imperial measurements will disappear with time.

But then again someone will always be reading AR and he drew the SW plan with a mile scale.
So someone will always ask about this when we are dead and gone

Roger said in SW that milk was 3p a pint at home, so that provides a lower conversion rate. The web site listed in another post suggested a conversion rate of 25 to 1. Which means a farthing would be worth about 5 p which sounds better.
