AR in his treatment of the children was ahead of his time. His use of science in PP and to some extent in PM was good. These days to teach and write about the same characters you would be dealing in metric.
I have no doubt that AR would have introduced metric, made Roger make some funny comment about it and then got on with story.
So I respectivley disagree. If someone on this site is hot on metric then I would argue they don't understand the Ransome I understand.
Of course he would be tolerant of the old fashioned way but I am sure he would use it.
