I must say I agree that ARs pic on the Puffins cant have been his best. I always thought he looked a bit Great Unclish, rather schoolmasterish and not at all outdoorsish.
I almost remember the blurb by heart: "born in Leeds and educated at Rugby" which, when I first read it, had me imagining a teacher running around with a whistle shouting "Watch the ball, laddie, watch the ball!"
