With a weary sigh, I see that another round of TARS-bashing has broken out on Tarboard. Are you a member of the Society, John? If you are, you will know that the maximum term of office on the Board is 6 years (3 years + an optional further 3 years) As to 'God forbid we enjoy life', or whatever rubbish it was that you said, just take a look at the 'Coots in the North' website, linked on a posting below. Admittedly the TARS Chairman looks a bit grumpy on one shot, but actually he had a whale of a time.
