John you have reminded my of one of my earliest drinking experiences - I was thirteen or so and my family were holidaying on the Norfolk Broads, and in a small pub at the end of a dyke I had a pint of cider. My parents though it would be OK until my uncle pointed out it was the real thing! Once I got out into the fresh air I was absoulutely... well, you can guess the rest. Still, it was a great pub, and there are not many left like it.
