There are great pubs all over the world. They are just hard to find.
The best pub I have been into in Austin Texas was built in Ireland - disassembled and reassembled wall hangings and all in Texas. It is a work of Art.
I made it outside, but My Grant's car did not smell good after I ....... and then apparently I ruined my good army kit bag.
Those were the days my friend, and thank god they ended. Although for my ex-brother in law they have not and he has been brought home by the police after three day benders. His wife finally divorced him.
