Peter,

These books were written 40 years ago and more. That they have endured this long and are still considered relevant to the BBC is a testament to their pulling power.

The IRAQ war had 30 seconds on the news this morning on the equivalent of the BBC in America.

There are millions of books but only a few as good as Ransome. Why he is the quiet achiever I do not know but he is.

The kids on the show had a strange accent - mus thave been Britishers did not sound like the normal folks I know. (Just joking)

We all want to belong somewhere and part of the language is belonging. We should let people have their differences after all it makes for an interesting world.

John
