The Lakes School at Windermere breaks up for the summer on the 17th July '98. After that the area gets fairly busy, peaking with the Bank Holiday at the end of August.
Schools return within the first week of September and things start to get back to normal.
For things to do, see the Cumbria Tourist Board web page which lists events taking place across the Lakes for the next few months.
