Capt Flint's Houseboat

In Christina Hardyment's "Trunk" book, she says that the original of the Houseboat is the 'Gondola'. But Roger Wardale's "Nancy Blackett" book says that is is the 'Esperance'. Can anyone tell me which is correct?
