The Gaels have dogs in GN (even if we don't count the dogmudgeon). Mr Jemmerling shoots at a dog.
In WH there's a dog called Ringman at Holly Howe. The name sounds reminiscent of John Peel's dogs but I checked and found I was combining Bellman and Ringwood. Maybe that's how AR arrived at the name?
