If John was 11 in SD, he must have been 10 in SA. I always imagined Susan as being a year younger than John. Don't tell me that a nine-year-old girl could be as responsible and grown-up as Susan. We have a 12-year-old girl from China staying with us, and although it's unfair to compare, I must admit Susan comes off as incredibly mature while our little lodger is . . . Well, let's say not as mature. Do most 12-year-old girls still hop and skip around the house and play with Barbie dolls?
