Im sure your Math(s) are OK, but in my view the lakes are between 6 and 10 miles long (9 & 16km the actual lengths of Coniston and Windermere) because of the time scales involved. Your lake would take about 25 mins to sail along and little longer to walk along. Also the Amazon river would be visible from Wild Cat Is.

I think Wild Cat is about one third of a mile, 500m, long.

All based on mental images!!
