In SA CH20, while Titty is anchored in the dark in the captured
AMAZON, she hears the sound of what was later thought to be the
burglars rowing near her, using a pair of oars, "pin oars".
Titty "knew that noise well."

In SD CH32, there is a reference to the squeaking oars on "pin
rowlocks", by some unknown boat in the fog, suspected to be
fishermen.

I am not familiar with the meaning of "pin" in these two
situations. What are "pin oars" and what are "pin rowlocks?"
