Dear All.

I'm feeling smug having today passed my RYA level 1 course (aged 32 and three quarters). First ever sailing and all down to my chance rereading of Swallows and Amazons.

With sea(dock?) legs still a bit wobbly I thought I'd read the sailing parts of Peter Duck tonight and have just came across the passage: "Titty put her hand on the wheel and felt the tremor of the little ship." as they go out for 'sea trials' and the first sail of the Wild Cat.

For one moment today, when things were going right (i.e. we weren't crashing into the side of the dock at ramming speed), I too felt that 'tremor' on the rudder of my battered old Wayfarer.

The moral of all this? Well there isn't one, but I think you people are the only people who would realise why I have to write this now...

Cheers all.
