The Coot Club didn't get any monetary reward, but two major things were achieved: George Owdon was drummed out of the area, and the Death and Glories were fully accepted back into the community. Look at the beginning of Coots in the North. And all with reasonable harmony. George didn't get a criminal record (that probably came later).
Do you suppose Indignant of Horning wrote an apology in the local paper?
