We Didn't Mean . . . or rather I didn't mean to start what Peter Dowden would call a 'Kerfuffle' (what was he referring to, I wonder?). I have calmed down now after reading Ian's advice - that's a really good idea!

To John - I make far more mistakes than you do when I first key an intended posting in, but I look at it on 'test post first' - don't you ever do this? You would be amazed what horrors you find, but I admit that some typos still get through.

I have a feeling that an awful lot of childhood sins could be cobered (cobered? - there you are, John!) covered by the phrase 'enthusiasm and engagement'. There are times when a child can, must, do without enthusiasm and engagement. If this sounds like Great Aunt Maria, then all I can say is that I find myself more and more in sympathy with her as the years roll on . . . Good luck to anyone whose 1st Eds are ruined by ent. and eng.
