John Macnab was a BBC Scotland production, broadcast in three weekly parts in the spring of 1976, and, from memory, repeated once a year or so later. For some reason it has disappeared completely off the radar - no details that I can find anywhere on the internet. I have been asked by the John Buchan Society to put together a page for their website on film adaptations of his books and after some searching have managed to acquire a copy of the issue of the Radio Times for the week the programme was first broadcast, which includes a feature on it. I have yet to find out if the BBC still have the series in their archives. My memory of it was that it was very well done; the surprise when I saw the cast list in the Radio Times was a then-unknown Susan Wooldridge as Janet Raden, a few years before her breakthrough role in Jewel in the Crown. There is an article on it in the Buchan Society magazine but I have not yet seen it.

Have you read Prester John lately ? They might just about have got away with filming it in the inter-war years but I reckon that by modern standards it is far too politically incorrect to be acceptable.
