I've made comments here off and on over the years, and just again recently, about how much I think my part of the world might be like Secret Water.

Those of us who have seen the real Secret Water can now judge for yourselves if I'm correct or not, because I've just finished posting some pictures of Cannons Creek and the surrounding areas on a special page on our website.

For those who know the Walton Backwaters, I rather suspect the biggest visual difference will be the presence of the mangroves in Western Port. But the mud, the tides, the flatness all remind me strongly of that region in Essex that is, yet is not, the imaginary Secret Water.

Your comments on the similarity (or otherwise) of the pictures to the real thing would be appreciated. (But I do hope you won't destroy all my illusions....)

Mike
