No, Bovril is a beef extract, unlike Marmite and Vegemite which are yeast extracts hence acceptable to vegetarians. In New Zealand Marmite is made by the Sanitarium Health Food Co which is/was tied up with the vegetarian Seventh Day Adventist Church. Sanitarium also make Weet-Bix and other breakfast foods.
PS: I like it (Marmite)preferably with cheese!
