I'm not the first to find the idea of a Nancy-John romance/wedding improbable. If it's going to be kept in-house, I would more easily see Nancy with Dick (once they are old enough for the age difference to be trivial). Nancy could "manage" Dick as Dorothea does (we'll have to pair off Dot or her nose will be much out of joint) while she will continue to respect his brain as she respects none of the others.
