I think, as others have suggested, that Dick and Titty are the more likely pairing. Somehow, I can't see Dick as the "managed" type, except for making sure his socks match and there aren't food stains on his tie (stereotypical boffin); and I can't see Nancy doing that kind of managing. Both are too independent. I think Nancy would find a more likely match from outside the core group. Dum or Dee? It's a pity Ransome never finished Coots in the North. I'd really like to know what followed Nancy's first meeting with the D&G's!
As for Dot - she's certainly got enough possibilities within the group: Roger, Tom Dudgeon, John (if we rule out a Nancy/John pairing).
