Yes- except that 'meta fuel' wasn't meths impregnated but another chemical altogether. See the link below- and then use it if you dare.

As a child, I loved the stuff. We used it to melt down and cast lead from recycled lead soldiers. We'd do this in our bedroom- I'm not sure how we all survived. We also used it to drive little tin boat models- heating a coil of copper tube which burped and drove the thing along at quite some speed.

But I never used it to start Primuses- always used liquid meths for that.
