The competitor passed but my mind leapt to the answer "Mangrove Islands", as mangrove swamps fringe many tropical coastlines but John Humphries read the answer "Mango Islands". A quick check revealed he was right.
So my question is: does AR's use of mango for mangrove the usage current at the time? Is it meant to reflect Titty's childish mishearing? Or was it a mistake?
Or is, perish the thought, the mistake mine?
