Peter:

First off - the article on adders is really good in this weeks G2. It expresses how I feel about snakes.

Since Februry 1 I have prepared my third year annual review package, 280 pages of gibberish, graduated a PhD student (my first), been approved for an adoption in China, been to countless dinners for people coming in for job interviews, sweated over a rotten proposal for looking at 800 year old Indian ruins in Arizona in terms of the seismic resistance, and struggled to understand the British system of University grants. All whilst sitting day in and day out in a 12 square metre office listening to Jethro Tull.

My daily life is perked up by the Tarboard, and sometimes you need reassurance as you tackle something new like the Mary Anne.

I got a great book on small boat building.
Loan Title: Building small boats /
Loan Author: Rhossel, Greg, 1951-
Transaction Number: 645561

The section on wood selection sounded just like the board. He gave all the pros and cons, just as we have, and then said - basically good luck. If I bought all the tools he recommends I would not be able to afford the timber. He does give a lot of really great stuff, not quite as clear as Gardener, but a bit clearer than Chappelle. He could do with more pictures and less words.

Back to the proposal. I should post less now I am through this dreadfull hump.

JMN
