I think you are absolutely right to build. But surely it doesn't save money. I don't know what boats cost over there but I paid £3250 for a beautiful well equipped 22 foot sailing cruiser here - distinctly less than $13,000.

I don't think anybody could have disguised the Chain Home radar masts - they were enormous. The Germans certainly knew about them and tried to destroy them during the Battle of Britain. They only managed to put one out of action - the British Authorities had arranged that in this event the transmissions would continue from somewhere nearby and the German monitoring service could not pick up any difference, so they assumed they could not damage them and went for easier targets, like London. Just as well, really.
