It is likely to be a hot day.
In Central London go to Hyde Park (Lancaster Gate Station on the Central Line is as good as any) and look for the Round Pond - there may be some model boats although I do not think it is a Vintage Model Yacht Club day.
You can take the Underground to Richmond (District Line) and get down to the river and watch the river craft from a suitable pub. The River Thames is still tidal below Teddington - so watch your feet - although you can watch the occasional car being trapped if the tides are right.
If you havn't done a river trip, go to Westminster Pier (Westminster Station - Circle, District and Jubilee lines) a take one of the many trips.
I assume as a TAR you are not adverse to water and you wish to keep cool. Enjoy yourself.
