It is unfortunate that Titty's name was changed because I think the name of a person/character is an integral part of that person/character, even though there must be a large element of chance - depending on one's parent's whims. When a name does not fit a person, we often say, "he's not a Fred/John/etc". However, I am not opposed to changing Titty's name for the purpose of a TV program. TV belongs in a different era from the books so allowances must be made for some changing fashions. If Titty were still called Titty, it would probably distract children from the stories and characters unnecessarily. Children just can't help that. That would defeat the purpose of making a TV program of the books. Having said that, I read the books as a child in the 60's and I don't remember giving a second thought about Titty's name.
