The “Books about Arthur Ransome” section of the Literary Pages does not mention one book about AR - “Arthur Ransome” by Hugh Shelley (Bodley Head London, 1960). Have not looked at the library copy here, but it is a brief Bodley Head monogram of 72 pages, described as Biography. It was reset and revised in 1968 by Bodley Head, and combined with sections on Rudyard Kipling, Walter de la Mare, Rosemary Sutcliffe (& Leonard Clark??).

Does it have any revelations or insights?
