There may be a quick way, but these are the only ways I can think of. You could compose your posting in Word and change the 'language' setting to 'English-UK'. One of your keys will then type £, but you will have to find out which.
Or you could copy this: £ and customise a function key to reproduce it. Here's some more for you: £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £.
BTW, how is it that I've got a $ key on my UK keyboard? Or need I ask?
