Oh dear, this is a fraught day on Tarboard. Dan is absolutely right - the man who was drowned in the Mavis accident was big and heavily-built and he panicked. Pauline is lightly built, but she did her best to save him. Like Dan, I know Pauline, and memories of this incident still distress her - it is one of those things stay with you all your life, and I would urge that we say no more about this terrible incident.
