Tarboard is an admirable institution in every way, but there is one drawback - one cannot resign from it. It is not possible to 'hand in' one's posting password and stump off in a huff. This seems a pity. I suppose it's like regular meetings in a pub, where you cannot 'resign', you just stop coming in. I suppose you could torment Ian to such an extent that he would withdraw your password, but I wouldn't want to do that. One answer is to stop posting, but that seems an awfully limp way to bow out. Would Ian consider taking back a passcode voluntarily? At least then there would be 'closure'.

JN - Lascelles Abercrombie was a close friend of AR for some years. There is a lot about him in er, er, a sort of magazine just published by er, well, a society. I mean no offence.
