Well done, Adam! Randall Garrett, a science-fiction writer, at various points in his career produced a series of poetic summations of famous SF stories, where the point was to tell the entire story -- and miss the point. In the process spoofing poetry as well -- an example piece was his send-up of "Caves of Steel" which was written in the precise style of "Gunga Din" and ended with the heroic comment, "You're a better man that I am, Hunka Tin!"
