It isn't compulsory to like all the AR books! I have just heard Adam Hart-Davis's 'With Great Pleasure', in which the passage from Winter Holiday was read out where Dick and Dorothea's sledge picks up the wind and starts to hurtle northwards throught the storm. The writing is masterly. There is nothing of this stature in Peter Duck. It just doesn't compare.
