The original SA map was drawn by Stephen Spurrier, but this map was later replaced, though Brogan (AR bio page 341) does not say who drew the replacement map. Brogan rather liked the “splendid” Spurrier map of the lake.

AR apparently “stood over” both Spurrier and Clifford Webb the original illustrator; he complained that they did not draw boats accurately unless he stood over them. But as the Lake map was not drawn by AR, it may not reflect exactly how AR imagined the lake.
