I don't think the printing inside the books has changed significantly, but there were many reprints of ML in the 1940's, slightly less so in the 1950's and a couple up to 1964.
Hopefully someone has a copy with a dust jacket prior to 1964, who could please look and see the wording on the front of the jacket.
Or did we all read and reread these books so often that the dust jackets were inevitable casualties?
