I was just going to post a message about the material used to insulate the bell wire in PP. But the debate on the details of Beckfoot's utilities was becoming rather hot and I didn't want to pour oil over the smoldering coals.

Now at last the thread has moved on to something we can all enjoy without having to serve a five year apprenticeship as plumber's mate.

A wet and naked John immediaely brings to mind all the wet (but not naked) females in Ransome's works. So another question for the proposed Tarboard Entry Exam:

    8) How may instances of wet females are in there in Ransome's writings? What do think was the author's intent?
