Due to some of your comments am prepared to place Missee Lee back on the list of 'real' tales... i don't really think it so terribly fantastical. The only let down in the story was the ending and the fact it is not mentioned in the following books very much...
In general as a reader I am willing enough to be convinced that what they say is really what those characters did(while still being aware that its fiction)... so, I do think I would have enjoyed Peter Duck better if AR had explained what he was doing... I think writing a story over the holidays is just as interesting a task as finding the north pole.
Anyway, I feel I have woffled on and made little sense in the process.
