The "Swallows & Amazons For Ever!" paperback was indeed a Red Fox edition, and appears to be tied to the BBC "Coot Club" and "The Big Six" which were misleadingly titled "Swallows & Amazons For Ever!" They are indeed abridged to get both into a single paperback of about the same size as the others. I personally think this one is not worth bothering with.
On the other hand if you can find a secondhand copy of "Coots in the North" by all means grab it.
